ANVISA - National Health Surveillance Agency


National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) is a regulatory agency, in the form of a special regime autarchy, linked to the Ministry of Health. The agency exercises sanitary control over all products and services (national or imported) submitted to health surveillance, such as medicines, foods, cosmetics, sanitizers, tobacco products, medical products, blood, blood products and health services.


The municipality is also responsible for approving products and services subject to health surveillance, for subsequent marketing, implementation and production in the country, and for drawing up technical regulations with characteristics of identity and quality of products subject to health surveillance. In addition, together with the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, it controls ports, airports and borders in matters related to health surveillance. Its performance also includes the monitoring and inspection of environments, processes, inputs and technologies related to health. The autarchy is active in the economic sphere, monitoring drug prices and participating in the Medicines Chamber (CMED).


The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) was established by Law No. 9,782, of January 26, 1999, and is an autarchy under a special regime, which has its headquarters and venue in the Federal District, and is present throughout the national territory.


Anvisa aims to protect and promote the health of the population, by intervening in the risks arising from the production and use of products and services subject to health surveillance.

MAPA - Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply


MAPA is responsible for the management of public policies to encourage agriculture, for the promotion of agribusiness and for the regulation and standardization of services linked to the sector. Its mission is to promote the sustainable development of agricultural production chains, to the benefit of Brazilian society and as a vision until 2027 to be recognized for innovation, agility and quality in the implementation of public policies and in the provision of services for the sustainable development of agricultural production chains.


In Brazil, agribusiness includes small, medium and large rural producers and brings together activities to supply goods and services to agriculture, agricultural production, processing, transformation and distribution of agricultural products to the final consumer.

 

The Registration of Products and Medicines for Veterinary use in Brazil must be made at MAPA. It also regulates establishments that produce, distribute, import, export, among other activities related to this sector.

 

After the establishment's license is obtained, it is possible to start the process of regularization of veterinary products, which are under the supervision of the Secretariat for Agricultural Defense (SDA) / MAPA, and these products can be registered or registered.

 

The regularization of Veterinary Products in MAPA is extremely important, as without it, it is forbidden to sell veterinary products and medicines in Brazil.


Minimally processed animal products, beverages, grains and vegetables

 

MAPA is also responsible for the regulation, regulation and control of the manufacture of food of animal origin (meat, fish, milk, cheese, egg, honey), beverages (soft drinks, juice, alcoholic drinks), vinegar, “in natura” agricultural products , classification of plant foods in Brazil.

 

Therefore, doubts, complaints, requests for measures and other manifestations about these products and establishments that process these products (slaughterhouses, slaughterhouses, processing industries for animal products, beverage industries, grain classifiers, establishments producing minimally processed vegetables) must be verified with the MAPA Ombudsman.
